Training & Empowerment of Market Women

Auchi, Edo North, Nigeria

Market women hold their families and their local economies together, and they are the first to be squeezed when times get hard. Working in collaboration with Senator Adams Oshiomhole, the foundation brought training, direct financial empowerment, and a room where the women themselves set the agenda.

Promoting Human Rights, Dignity, and Justice for All

At I Am Human, we believe that every person deserves to live with dignity, justice, and freedom, regardless of race, gender, nationality, or background. Our goal is simple yet powerful: to promote and protect human rights in Africa and around the world.

Human rights go beyond basic freedoms. Every person deserves clean drinking water, education, healthcare, and the minimum necessities to survive and live a dignified life. This is where I Am Human comes into play.

Human rights and basic needs should not be ideals; they should be a reality for all.

Founder story

A Voice for Justice

Shalimar Abbiusi spoke up for the people of Ghana, and was mistreated and unlawfully detained for it. The story did not stay local. It was carried by broadcasters and followed in country after country, and crowds gathered outside the court holding placards that read Free Shallie.

What made it resonate was how recognisable it was. Almost everyone watching knew someone who had been silenced with no platform at all. This foundation is what she decided to do with hers.

Our vision

I Am Human Foundation works across Africa, Europe, and beyond, defending dignity, supporting vulnerable communities, and making basic human needs accessible to people who have been overlooked for too long.

    Delivered & ongoing

    Projects delivered in Ghana and Nigeria: street distributions in Accra, school water and supplies, and a training and empowerment programme for market women in Edo North. Community meetings run continuously.

    Building

    Building awareness, partnerships, and support networks that connect European communities to human-rights work, and stand with people facing discrimination and injustice.

  • Global Advocacy

    Ongoing

    Speaking up against arbitrary detention and abuse of power wherever it happens, and insisting that accountability is not optional.
